"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." --Helen Keller

For most of us, our circumstances have changed significantly and we are all taking things day by day. In light of this, we have already seen some positivity come out of what is a challenging situation. It has been great to see our communities come together more than I have ever seen before, with neighbours offering to help each other, families being able to spend more quality time together, children being home schooled and having extra time to play in the garden. We have also seen many choosing to help smaller local businesses while most importantly making ourselves available to help our senior members of society. Now that we have time on our hands people have begun to use their time, our most valuable commodity, much more effectively. From meditation or yoga, giving our minds rest and relieving stress; to being innovative with technology, creating activities like virtual pub quizzes. Additionally, working from home saves a lot of the time that we would usually spend commuting, which is giving us the chance to do things we wouldn’t be able to normally like home improvements, reading and learning new skills. Why not try to make use of this time and try something new, like learning a new language, starting a small creative business or playing an instrument... There will be other good things that come out of this, with businesses realising the positive effects of working from home and entrepreneurs building new businesses out of the change in our ecosystem. We have already seen a huge reduction of pollution across the country, helping our environment and saving lives. People are now more motivated to exercise and we are finding new ways to keep fit while learning to cook healthier recipes to ensure that our bodies remain fit and healthy while we are spending a lot more time at home.  Our key workers that are working hard and risking their health and wellbeing to keep the country moving during lockdown, I have witnessed people become a lot more friendly to each other, with just a smile and a good morning. Most importantly we have our health workers in the NHS on the front line fighting the virus, I am so grateful that we have these guys and a great healthcare system, we need to continue to give them as much support as we can. It was beautiful to see everyone come out of their houses to clap and cheer them on, in the current fight - I hope that this gave them a big boost! Finally, I know that there are people still out there that maybe feeling alone or struggling with what we are dealing with, if this is the case for you or someone that you know then please reach out - it would be lovely to have a chat or a video call with you or arrange to pick up essential items like tea and biscuits! Thank you for taking the time to read I would love to hear your thoughts and comments on the topic.
